Wake your senses before all else.

6.45 a.m. Mist still drifts between the tree trunks. The ground crackles softly underfoot. Somewhere, a roe deer crosses the path, pauses, looks at you, then vanishes into the ferns.
This is what a seminar morning in the Ardennes with Brasero can look like. Not around a coffee, in a meeting room at 9, but at the heart of the forest, in the morning light, with a team that nature has already begun to transform. From this observation came a new range: The Matinales. 3 rituals tailor-made to open the day with the Ardennes, not apart from them.

When the seminar truly begins

For several years, Brasero has been welcoming companies to places that only ask to be inhabited: deep forests, dew-soaked meadows, woodland edges where the morning light holds something you will find nowhere else. And yet, most seminars begin like all the others, around a coffee, in a meeting room, at 9.

Something did not quite fit. We had the setting, we had the time, we had the sincere wish to give every team a parenthesis outside of time. But we were missing the most beautiful hour of the day, the one where the Ardennes give the most of themselves.

The Matinales were born from that gap. 3 brief, accessible rituals, led by our team, to open a seminar at the heart of the Ardennes nature rather than alongside it. A teambuilding that does not take a whole day, but that changes the colour of the whole day.

Why begin the day in the forest

A team settling into a seminar room at 9 arrives with its share of checked screens, back-to-back commutes, scattered thoughts. The meeting that opens begins with attention already worn down, a half-distracted presence. It is mechanical. It is the inertia of an ordinary office day.

When that same team walks through a forest at dawn, feels the cool air on the skin, hears the blackbirds before the inbox notifications, something realigns. The body wakes first, the mind follows. Presence to oneself and to others restores itself naturally, without a single slide being projected, without any group dynamic being forced.

“What we offer is not an activity. It is a moment when the Ardennes nature does the work for you, the work of waking the bodies, calming the minds, and bringing a team back into its own presence. The meeting that follows is nothing like the one it would have been.”

– Robin Balhan, Business Manager Brasero

This simple idea guides The Matinales: let the Ardennes prepare the ground. The light, the breath, the silence do the rest.

The Matinale Trail: one hour of running at sunrise

Les Matinales Brasero - Trail

The Trail is the first Matinale born from the range, and our favourite. 1 hour of running deep in the forest, on paths few people know, led directly by our team.

The pace adapts to the group, from seasoned runners to the simply curious. No clock, no ranking, just a shared pulse among the ferns. At that hour, the forest still belongs to the animals: deer, roe deer, wild boar, foxes, raptors. It is not unusual to come across one along a trail. It is an active seminar like no other, because the sport is not what matters, it is the place that invites itself into the sport.

The guidance is entirely in-house. Robin Balhan, Business Manager of Brasero, accompanies you in person on most sessions. On certain days, his brother, a former high-level athlete, takes over. This presence changes everything, we are not sending your team to an outside provider, we are taking them with us.

The Matinale Yoga: a mat rolled out on the Ardennes meadow

Les Matinales Brasero - Yoga

1 hour of gentle yoga in the morning light, on the meadow of the Domaine de Bronromme or in the park of the Château de la Louveterie. Stretches, conscious breathing, presence to the moment. The song of birds as the only soundtrack.

The practice is guided and designed to be accessible to all, from regulars of urban studios to those who have never set foot on a mat. No prerequisites, no comparison, just a shared rhythm rediscovered on the ground, on the grass, under the slanting light of early morning.

Mats, cushions and all necessary equipment are provided on site. You simply arrive in comfortable clothes and let the meadow do its work. For teams starting their seminar with a strategic or creative session, the morning yoga settles a quality of listening that few other openings can match.

The Matinale Meditation: 45 minutes at the edge of the woods

Les Matinales Brasero - Méditation

45 minutes at the edge of the Ardennes woods: guided meditation, cardiac coherence, slow walking. The shared silence, the breath, the scents of humus and moss. A short, intense parenthesis that prepares a group to listen, to themselves and to each other.

It is the Matinale we recommend for opening the most demanding seminars: strategic workshops, sessions of deep reflection, days where the quality of attention matters more than the busyness. When a group enters a meeting after having breathed together at the edge of the woods, the first hour of work takes on a different density.

Guidance entirely in-house, here too. No outside provider, no detached speech, just a simple, grounded posture, sensitive to the weather of the day and the composition of your team. The Meditation is also the most tolerant of the three Matinales beyond the summer season, it can be considered all year round, as long as the weather allows a few minutes outdoors.

For which teams, for which seminars

The Matinales fit naturally into a seminar at Brasero. They are not sold as standalone activities. They open the day you have chosen to spend with us, at one of our two locations.

A few contexts in which they reveal all their value:

  • Opening a strategic workshop. When the stakes are serious and the quality of attention will determine the quality of decisions, the Matinale Meditation prepares a rare ground.
  • Post-merger, post-reorganisation. A team that has gone through a structural change needs to reform. The Matinale Trail or Yoga brings back a shared body before the first exchanges.
  • Project launch or annual kick-off. To set a collective energy from the dawn, rather than letting the dynamic build painfully between two presentations.
  • Quieter seminar. For teams emerging from an intense period, who need to find a shared breath before anything else.

In each of these cases, the goal is the same, not to start the day the way you would start any Monday. Letting the place, the hour and the ritual install another quality of presence. Would you like to talk it through with us ? Let us get in touch, we love designing these parentheses together with you.

How to integrate a Matinale into your seminar

The format is deliberately simple, 1 ritual as an opening option, in the morning of your seminar. Trail (1 hour), Yoga (1 hour) or Meditation (45 minutes), chosen according to the desired dynamic and the composition of your team.

Everything takes place on site, at the Domaine de Bronromme or in the park of the Château de la Louveterie. No travel to arrange, no logistics to coordinate: you arrive the evening before, you sleep on site, you start the day with the forest, the meadow or the woodland edge. Breakfast follows, then your work.

Dress code: trainers and sports clothes for the Trail, comfortable wear for Yoga and Meditation. All equipment (mats, cushions, gear if needed) is provided. We typically welcome groups of 10 to 40 people, with the option of running in subgroups to preserve the quality of the guidance.

The Matinales operate mainly from May to October, with weather flexibility that lets us adjust the ritual to the sky. The Matinale Meditation, more tolerant of the seasons, can be considered all year round.

Wake your senses, before all else.

A question ? A request ? A project ? We will come back to you as soon as possible to design, together, your ideal Matinale.
